ONA TRANSFER FORM - Maternal and Child Unit MACU
Regular Part-time, Job-Share, Temp Part-Time
Union: ONA
Shifts: Days, Evenings, Nights, Weekends, Extended Tours

 

 

PLEASE NOTE: ONA Transfer Forms are valid between January 1st and Dec 31st each year, therefore you must complete one each year to be included in this process.


QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Current Certificate of Competence in the Province of Ontario from College of Nurses.
  • Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation is required.
  • Current or within two years Maternal and Child experience required. Preference will be given to candidates with current Paediatric and NICU experience.
  • Current experience within the last two (2) years working with mothers and well babies.
  • Consideration will be given to candidates with, or enrolled in, Maternal Child Nursing Certificate Programs or who have other related educational preparation in-Breastfeeding and NRP.
  • Perinatal Certificate Program or willing to complete.
  • Demonstrated interest and knowledge in family centred maternity care.
  • Demonstrated ability to function in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated excellence in communication skills.
  • Demonstrated clinical assessment and family/patient teaching skills.
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge in I.V. Therapy is required.
  • Demonstrated reliable attendance, punctuality and availability.
  • Experience supporting families with breastfeeding.
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality and patient safety, considers safety of self and co-workers.
