Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Pharmacy, Infection Prevention & Control, Diagnostic Imaging & Laboratory Services, as a member of JBH’s Medical Imaging Team, the successful candidate will provide leadership and effective day to day operations of Diagnostic modalities including MRI, Women’s Imaging, Ultrasound. The successful candidate  will assume the corporate role of MRI Safety Officer.

The Manager will drive effective operations to ensure timely access to safe and high quality imaging for the patients and communities we serve.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of MRI, Women’s Imaging, and Ultrasound including staffing, patient scheduling, quality, equipment management, and budget monitoring. The successful individual will also ensure the provision of appropriate, efficient and high quality diagnostic services meeting all legislative and safety requirements. They will also monitor operational effectiveness through key performance indicators; lead program initiatives; and manage and monitor the human, financial and capital resources across JBH.  Additionally the incumbent will ensure compliance with various accreditation, licensing, professional regulatory, safety, standards or laws as they apply. 

AS A MANAGER, YOU WILL:

  • Provide strategic development and administrative leadership to the department while ensuring operational and clinical excellence for a complex multidisciplinary department in collaboration with physician leaders , Director of Pharmacy, IPAC, Diagnostic Imaging & Laboratory Services and the Chief of Radiology
  • Oversee recruitment and development of staff  and the fiscal resources of the department while facilitating the provision of outstanding patient care and quality diagnostics services
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to ensure effective coordination of efforts to support quality patient care  and access to diagnostic service
  • Ensure practice, safety and accreditation standards are met and integrated across all clinical areas
  • Work in partnership with key stakeholders, support corporate performance and process improvement initiatives that drive strategic and operational priorities.
  • Foster an environment of continued professional development and customer service
  • Oversee development and updates to standard operating procedures within the team, including all policy oversight
  • Manage and monitor the department’s budget, analyze trends, and develop strategies to address variances.

QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE: 

  • Undergraduate Degree in a related healthcare discipline required, Master’s degree preferred
  • Business Administration Certificate or Diploma is an asse
  • Member of College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) is required
  • Current Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) is required
  • MRSO Certificate required
  • Minimum 3 years’ progressive leadership experience
  • 10 years of clinical experience in Medical Imaging, with minimum 5 years being in MRI
  • Experience leading and participating in quality improvement for greater efficiency and patient safety
  • Demonstrated experience in budget development, fiscal planning, and financial management, with a proven ability to monitor and control expenditures in line with organizational goals and priorities
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting, cost analysis, and variance analysis, with the ability to make data-driven decisions to ensure budget adherence and optimize resource allocation
  • Knowledge of diagnostic equipment in various modalities as well as applicable legislative and safety requirements
  • Effectively able to provide a positive team environment in which members participate, respect and cooperate with each other to achieve desired outcomes
  • Knowledge of PACS and HIS/RIS
  • Ability to respond to large numbers of simultaneous demands from multiple interested and impacted parties
  • Ability to analyze information/data to guide decisions to support the department in the delivery of a safe, effective, efficient, innovative and high level of quality service
  • Evidence of effective organizational, interpersonal, communication, leadership, judgment, critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills required
  • Ability to work effectively within an interprofessional team in an unionized environment\
  • Consistent and regular attendance required
